After reading the Livingston thread, some thoughts started coming to mind.. As mentioned in one blog or another a week or so ago, it seems that Armstrong is interested in returning to Orlando. That's about as much as we know. He could be a somewhat decent sized X factor into where we go from here. Let's say he DOESN'T walk. He'd still bring the high energy and defense to the game. He'd be an excellent model for the youth of the team and a great coach on the court/teacher off the court. And, we seem to be thin at the PG position, so him being there would help with that. Now, let's say he DOES walk. What do we do? Livingston is being talked about now, but there's many other teams looking at him who may be more appealing to him. In his recent interview, he has mentioned hanging out with other players such as Richardson and Finley. But, let's say he decides to come on board. That's being discussed in the other thread, so I'll leave it at that, but how about Hodge? Does this also mean that the rumor of Caroll joining an overseas league prove true? We have 3 possibilities there, but none of the 3 are true PGs essentially. Or, if DA leaves, should we try to work out something for a big? Ager's time with the team may be limited, KVH's contract needs to be rid of, so that can leave us with 3 spots. Trenton Hassell's probably on his way out too, so that can still mean up to a possibility of 4 spots. So, what would other Net fans like to see with DA? Would you like to see him stay, or go? Personally, I'd actually like to see him stay.
1. He wants to play, but no one has signed him. He is 40 years old. He didn't play all that well last season. 2. The Nets have filled all their coaching vacancies. 3. The Nets have not renounced his rights because he could come in handy in a sign and trade, just like they haven't yet waived KVH.
