He's playing against a team of NBA All-Stars and he didn't completely fold. Some of you guys need to lower your expectations. He's 20 years old and entering his second year in the league. Give him the time he needs to develop into the player the Nets need him to be.

Poor rebounding, poor shooting, poor defense, against all teams. Maybe he'll be special, but I'm not holding my breath anymore.
I hate this time of year. One bad game and a number of us are ready to lynch the new guy. He's a kid who was on the worse end of every matchup he had today. There was good and bad, luckily he'll have far more help against regular NBA teams on NJ than he did in the game today vs. 12 NBA All Stars.
im not worried... hes 20 yrs old... has the skills and potential (basically has what it takes) to be a star... i like Yi... a lot of us here just jump the gun... give the kid a chance... jesus at least give him this olympics and like the first 2 months of the season...
Is this game going to be replayed again on NBC or some other channel? Any online link to see it? I missed it.
I can't base any type of opinion on this, he's a kid who had the biggest game of his entire life, with pressure from the press, his country, and the goverment to do good. He had an off game. It happens. We'll see how he does overall in the Olympics, but really, if he doesn't do good in the Olympics, no problem...he'll do better here.
I saw the game and i wouldn't call him garbage. In fact if you watched him he does have a decent skill set and can run the floor very well. Yao looked not so hot against this dream team. At times i found myself routing for china in the beginning because they were so over matched. That being said. Kodos to coach K and the dream team! This team played so well and i was so impressed with their defense! All 15 players that played were all on the same page, and defense was t heir number one goal. They played defense like it was a game 7 of the finals. The fact that coach K could and did use all 15 players gave the ones on the floor the opportunity to go all out cause the minutes were so evenly divided. China on the other hand played the game with 8 or maybe 9 players, and Yao looked very tired trying to carry the load. Especially comming off of the foot injury and he clearly probably isn't in shape yet. Yi i would say reminds me of say Boone early in his second year. Yi is an nba player and belongs in the nba. But he's not at the level of an allstar or a dream team member. Can't tell at this stage if he ever will be, but he is deserving of a low lottery pick none the less. If Rose, or Beasley, or any of the top 5 lottery picks from last year were playing for china nobody would have fared much better against this dream team. So to watch this one pressure filled game for a 20 year old kid and determine he's garbage, is usually a fool speaking. A person with clearly no vision of the future. Simply not a fair assessment of Yi. I think the kid will be fine addition for the nets. Lets see how he fares in the rest of the Olympics and in training cam before we dismiss him. oh yeah, go nets!!!

If anyone thinks that Yi's play at the end of the game can be chalked up to garbage time, then "you're better than that!" Garbage minute competition just happened to be Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Tayshaun Prince...

On another note did anyone notice how Sun Yue and Kobe were going at it. Yue had a nice game and showed how versatile he is, he blocked howard, had a couple of assists, a steal, and hit a couple of threes. Kobe was guarding him most of the time that he was out there as well. I'm guessing he passed Kobe's test and he arguably played the best out of all the guards for china.
WoW!!! Lets trade him now. Get rid of the guy. Maybe we can trade him to get Marcus William back or White Castles Sack of 10 Cheeseburgers. I dont get some people. The only reason why this game was close in the beginning was because of the 3pt shots. This should have been a worse then it was. Like some one said the offense runs through Yao. If you notice once when Yao was out, Yi got some quality touches. I dont know if the coach did this, but If the coach was smart he would have Yi in there when Yao is out. I liked what I saw at the end of the game. He has some skills and he is only 20.
