This is mildly odd.
my guess is that he wants to be injury free for pre season since he believes he has a chance to be a starter. Who knows, maybe he actually working on his free throws. I think its a good move for him to focus on his game and career.
maybe he's still pissed at Calhoun for stating (in a published interview, no less!) that he didn't think Boone was ready to be a pro.

minor elbow injury in big man camp in vegas...nothing serious but he was held out. all the other bigs, plus CDR, played and did pretty well, says Thorn...and that includes Lopez, Anderson and Williams.
