Is it just me or after watching Hellboy II I really felt like the prince would pull off being a wicked Drizzt Do' Urden? From his graceful fighting style to his temperment...all they would have to do is change his skin tone from white to black. With the way special effects are nowadays and the support for fantasy based movies, right now would be the perfect time to translate the on going tales of Drizzt Do 'Urden from R.A. Salvatore's novels. With all the characters and epic fights...this could be a blockbuster franchise! Any thoughts on this?
Love the Dark Elf Series!! I have not seen HB II yet though. I have just re-read the fist 7 books and I've order the last 3 books as well as 'The Assassin's Blade' Trilogy. Have you read Salvatore's cleric's quintet? A very good series too. btw the Dark Elf series is in comic book form... I could email you the versions I have acquired thus far send me a pm with your email address
Wouldn't the Prince make a kick ass Drizzt?!? The way he would slide on his knees between people and cut back made me think of when Drizzt fights much bigger opponents and takes out thier knees... I say who ever can get the movie rights to this is getting a license to print money...I think it could be huge. Everytime R>A> Salvatore writes a book it makes the top seller list.
I've never heard of this, nor do I really understand the reference (besides being in the movie), but by the looks of the artwork I'd say it would work as a Soul Reaver movie (Legacy of Kain, playstation)

Salvatore's work. Every book in this series has been great. I've fallen off and have out of reading his work due to my recent deployments and shopping and video game playing that happens when I get back...lol. I've missed his last two books..."Two Swords" & "The Orc King"...I think he even has another one coming out in October "The Pirate King"....I catch up! I have read the Cleric's Quintet....very good read...I always did like Cadderley...but I more so liked Pikel (do-dad...lol) and Ivan...funny stuff.

Salvatore (every book u=in the series is a NY times best seller). It hinges on a young Drow Elf (Drizzt) who doesn't want to live the live set before him which is a constant war where each "house" is in constant battles to improve thier prestige. In society and in the eyes of "Loth" their spider deity. The women of the race are the top of the social ladder and the men are mearly their muscle (warriors) and used for breeding. Wanting more than that life and after finding out about the sacrifice of his father to Loth he striks out on his own to the surface world. Drizzt is a very skilled fighter...tops actually and makes friends on the surface (Wolfgar - Human/Barbarian, Bruenar - Dwarf/Warrior, Regis - Halfling/Thief & Cattie bre - Human/Warrior). There are many fights with Dragons and other creatures as well. It would make an excellent translation into a movie though...but it would have to be done right, and with a large budget...if corners are cut...it might not fare well Check the link for a quick ref. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drizzt_Do'Urden
It's funny you posted this yesterday, my books arrived in the mail from Chapters/Indigo yesterday too I got a compilation of his books called Paths of Darkness which has 'The Silent Blade', 'The Spine of the World', 'Servant of the Shard' and 'Sea of Swords' I also got The Hunter's Blades trilogy (not assassin's whoops) 'The Thousand Orcs', 'The Lone Drow' and 'The Two Swords' since I'll be busing it to work come September, I'll be able to rip through these 7 books in the fall no problem Jigga, if you like fantasy novels, this series is a must. I still haven't read "The Two Swords" or the one after it yet "The Orc King". I've read up to those though. Also, have you read the spin-offs (called the Sellswords Trilogy) for the "Servant of the Shard" yet...They focus on Artemis and Jarlaxle...I have to read those as well. Here is a link for that series: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_of_the_Patriarch Man, with all these character...a movie would be great! When you get a chance check out HellBoy II and tell me the Prince wouldn't be perfect for Drizzt
I have to check out the Sellswords Trilogy too. I read up to 'The Spine of the World I do believe when they originally came out then kinda stopped. I tend to do that. Go on a reading binge for a couple of years then get in to something else. Have you ever read Orson Scott Card's 'Ender's Game' series. I read Ender's Game and couldn't put it down. Really good sci-fi series.
Here's his official site http://www.hatrack.com/ about 'Ender's Game' <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>ndrew "Ender" Wiggin thinks he is playing computer simulated war games; he is, in fact, engaged in something far more desperate. The result of genetic experimentation, Ender may be the military genius Earth desperately needs in a war against an alien enemy seeking to destroy all human life. The only way to find out is to throw Ender into ever harsher training, to chip away and find the diamond inside, or destroy him utterly. Ender Wiggin is six years old when it begins. He will grow up fast. But Ender is not the only result of the experiment. The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway almost as long. Ender's two older siblings, Peter and Valentine, are every bit as unusual as he is, but in very different ways. While Peter was too uncontrollably violent, Valentine very nearly lacks the capability for violence altogether. Neither was found suitable for the military's purpose. But they are driven by their jealousy of Ender, and by their inbred drive for power. Peter seeks to control the political process, to become a ruler. Valentine's abilities turn more toward the subtle control of the beliefs of commoner and elite alike, through powerfully convincing essays. Hiding their youth and identities behind the anonymity of the computer networks, these two begin working together to shape the destiny of Earth-an Earth that has no future at all if their brother Ender fails. Newsday said of this novel "Card has done strong work before, but this could be the book to break him out of the pack." It was. Ender's Game took the sf world by storm, sweeping the awards. It won both the Hugo and Nebula, and rose to the top of national bestseller lists.</div>
