Well, if he had a good coach, he would tell Yi to get his ass out there and just play....and possibly set up GOOD offensive plays to help him get into a rhythm. But really, since when is 9 rebounds and 3 steals "indifferent"?
I agree, if you watched the China vs. USA game, this Chinese team has NO offensive plays and their guards are not that good. They are having a real tough time getting the ball to Yao and when Yao's there, for some reason, they have Yi at the three point line.... Either way, all the teams I've seen so far, the USA, China, Angola, all just kinda stand around on Offense and then just flash someone to the FT line and pass out for threes... stupid Zone defenses.... Yi's been his best when he was on the lower left block, posting. It'll be very interesting watching his development. Oh yea, he's just 21... and it's going to be his SECOND Season in the NBA, let's give him some damn time.
Sorry, that wasn't a response to you Pegs, that was a response to people who think this guy's terrible, already.
i hope Yi has a big game vs angola... they arent that tall... i hope he does well so all the people that call him a bust because of 2 olympic games... can stop for the next couple of days...
In the warmup games, Yi got outplayed by the Angola pf who was only 6'8 maybe 6'9 most. The Angolan was able to back Yi down and make easy layups consistently.
best of luck to Yi and team China, I hope they do good and win this one, and I hope Yi redeems himself of the past 2 games on offense.
from what I understand, the China game won't be broadcasted on USA tv. would you mind letting us know how it is?

ok yi deft doesnt get any touches in this offense... but defense he has been there... hes rotatin well and doesnt seem to be lost... and hes gettin boards... but cmon give the kid some touches... its like CNT purposely doesnt give him the ball **update** seriously these PG's or any guard on the cnt doesnt look for yi... its like they have eyes on yao...
wow they gave the ball to YI... and he freakin dunked it... and for all you guys on yao's nuts... the guy is having a great offensive game but he doesnt run out on shooters...
even when yao is on the bench there are no plays for him... granted i have only been watchin since 2nd quarter :/
