Bulls: After adding the No. 1 overall pick in Derrick Rose and re-signing Luol Deng to a six-year, $71 million deal, many Bulls fans are optimistic. But with a new coach (Vinny Del Negro) and a new point guard (Rose), it could take time. Meanwhile, restricted free agent Ben Gordon remains in limbo. Even if Gordon stays, GM John Paxson needs to do something to clear up a crowded backcourt that also includes Kirk Hinrich, Larry Hughes and Thabo Sefalosha. Throw in the fact that Drew Gooden is its only real low-post threat, and Chicago just has too many question marks right now.</div> I could see 13th if we don't re-sign Gordon, but if we do I think we could land anywhere 7-10 or so.
We still haven't attempted to solve our low post problems yet and it'll be basketball season before we know it. If we want Gordon and a good low post player, then luxury tax is inevitable. A decision needs to be made so that if we DO get a good low post player he will have time to train and get accustomed to our team. I'd look into getting rid of Tyrus Thomas, and Cedric Simmons >_> Tyrus because he is only good for a highlight dunk (every now and then) and Simmons because he doesn't even play that much. Also, I think Hughes is a pretty good player, but is paid too much, might need to get rid of him, too.
