Fiorentina Receive Roma Bid For Mutu

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Fiorentina transfer chief Pantaleo Corvino has confirmed that the club have received an official offer from Roma for Adrian Mutu, and says they could decide to sell him if the player wishes to leave.

Mutu’s future at Fiorentina has been uncertain for most of the summer, despite claims several days ago from both his coach, Cesare Prandelli, and his agent, that he would be staying at the club and signing a new contract.

The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Roma over the last few weeks, and Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has now announced that an official bid has been lodged.

“We have received an official bid from Roma for Mutu,” said Corvino

“It is logical that we should consider. Having taken note of this, it is mine and Fiorentina’s duty to meet the club that have made the request.

“It is the policy of Fiorentina to keep our best players, but if Mutu wants to leave we will consider any offers.

“The player hasn't been training with the team because he is ill.”

It is reported that Roma will offer 20 million euros to Fiorentina, as well as hand Mutu a contract of 3.2 million per season.

The Giallorossi have made no big name signings this summer, but the Romanian would certainly represent something of a coup if they manage to get him.</div>

They would be asses to sell Mutu considering how much strength the team is currently building towards a brighter future. Hopefully the team won't attempt to cheat a .. ninth time in the last .. three decades. lol

Agreed that selling Mutu would be a big lose, no matter how much money they would get.

They just need a few more pieces and they'll be good to contend.

They really only need another midfielder to contend to be honest. When looking at their current top 11, they're stacked with talent. They should think about taking up Juventus on their offer to make Almiron's deal permanent by the winter transfer window.

    Sébastien Frey (GK)
    Dario Dainelli (CB)
    Alessandro Gamberini (CB)
    Luciano Zauri (RB)
    Manuel Pasqual (LB)
    Bernardo Almirón (CM)
    Marco Donadel (CM)
    Riccardo Montolivo (RM)
    Zdravko Kuzmanović (LM)
    Adrian Mutu (AM)
    Alberto Gilardino (CF)

Anyone listed in bold is a regular international for their respected country. Gliardino is on-and-off with Italy these days, so I'm not listing him as a regular. If they can sign a midfielder to replace Donadel and possibly a better right back then Zauri, then they'll be set for a Serie A Scudetto run.

Thats a very good list of players. Gilardino is a big asset even like you said if he doesn't play that much for Italy now a days.

Yeah, also a buddy of mine in Italy went to college with Riccardo Montolivo. They're still friends too.
