Lazio Sign Lichtsteiner <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>With Valon Behrami leaving the club to join West Ham United, Lazio have been on the lookout for a new right back, and they have been in negotiations in recent weeks with Lille for Swiss star Lichtsteiner. A deal has now been agreed, with Lille officially confirming the transfer. A statement on the French club’s website reads: "Lazio and Lille have reached an agreement which completely satisfies the two parties and he will be transferred before the end of his contract which was set to run until summer 2009." Lichsteiner has been a steady presence on the right side of Lille’s team for the last three years, playing every role from full-back through to winger. This has enabled the 24-year-old utility man to catch the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid, who took an interest in the player at the beginning of the summer but then elected against making a move. Lichsteiner has won 15 caps for the Swiss national team, and played for his country at Euro 2008.</div>
That is an excellent signing, funny how they replaced one Swiss International with another. To be honest, Lichtsteiner shows more promise. I've always liked him on Lille OSC.

I appreciate that. BTW, I like how Lazio's best eleven are looking right now. Take a look at my list and some key substitutes. Juan Pablo Carrizo (GK) Sebastiano Siviglia (CB) David Rozehnal (CB) Stephan Lichtsteiner (RB) Aleksandar Kolarov (LB) Cristian Ledesma (DM) Francelino Matuzalem (RM) Stefano Mauri (LM) Goran Pandev (AM) Tommaso Rocchi (CF) Mauro Zárate (CF) Ştefan Radu (FB) Ousmane Dabo (DM) Mourad Meghni (AM) Pasquale Foggia (AM) Libor Kozák (CF) Again, bold names are regular internationals for their respected countries. I personally think that Mauri and Rocchi could easily fit in with the Italian squad. They're both incredibly talented players and very unselfish. Zárate is only 21, but the Argentine will soon be a bigger part of the Argentina squad as he shows what he can do in Italy. As for Matuzalem, he's fantastic, but falls out of favor for Brazil due to the country obviously having so much talent to work with. There are hardly any Brazilian regulars other then 8 or 9 players anyway.
^ LOL, and they lost to Belgium, of all teams. Rocchi like you said is capable of being a started for the national team, and hopefully they call him up for World Cup 2010.
I don't know if Rocchi will be at the level of talent he's currently at by 2010. He is a striker after all and they peak around 29 and he's 30 right now. As for Belgium, I'd like to see them revive their golden days with their young crop. I think it is possible, which is why I have them making the World Cup finals for 2010. They have two of the ten best young talents in the entire World right now and that's saying a lot for a country that hasn't done much in the past two decades. You may want to check them out, I'll post videos in the young players thread. You should already know Dembélé as he was the one who basically raped the Italian defense with that one-man rush. That was insane! Steven Defour Moussa Dembélé
