That sucks for him. But he got another scorer in Richard Jefferson so he could focus on other aspects of his game. Too bad he lost Mo Williams though. Hopefully Joe Alexander could keep him happy.

I wonder if Redd is going to find a seat on the bench if he starts out going 3-9 shooting or if he's going to be put in a 6th man role. Skiles isn't going to like playing Redd a lot of minutes if he's not going to put out 110% on the defensive end. In no way do I see Redd as being a Skiles type player.

What? You mean he's not excited about Richard Jefferson, one of the best scorers in the NBA! He's also one the best man defenders, right? Because, ya know, he's been to the finals twice and stuff. And he's sooooo good. Why wouldn't he be happy to play along RJ, who could be an all-star this season?

Redd isn't Skiles' "type," agreed, but there aren't many guys on that team who are. I don't foresee Redd's playing time dwindling simply because he's one of the two best scoring options they have.

That doesn't matter to Skiles. He'd rather lose playing his way.

My point was he's going to have to play Redd out of necessity. With the exception of maybe Elson and Bell, that roster is stacked with guys who can't play defense.

Unless the Bucks get a roster exception to only carry 5 players, then there is no necessity. Skiles will find somebody like Adrian Griffin and play him 25 MPG.

There simply aren't five guys on that team who are Skiles' type. Ergo, if he's going to fill out a line-up, if he isn't a fool, he'd necessarily include the players who are better than everyone else at the other stuff, and that would necessitate playing Redd big minutes. I can't believe I'm having this argument with you.

Well your first mistake is believing he isn't a fool. Skiles started Malik Allen 20 games, Othella Harrington 23 games and Mike Sweetney 44 games in the same season.

Skiles is a stubborn asshat and if Redd doesn't kowtow to him, he won't play much.

Fair enough. I'm no Bulls fan and on the odd occasion I've seen Skiles, he seemed to have his head on straight, but I'll defer to your take. I just assumed he started those guys so often because Luol and Thomas weren't doing much, and from what I could tell, things weren't exactly peachy in that locker room.

Redd, based on a hunch and the lack of any previous complaints, seems to have his head on straight, so for the sake of Bucks' fans, I hope he gets big minutes next year.

The Bulls needed outside scoring and a lengthy player, traded for Tim Thomas, and sent him home while paying his huge salary. Never played a minute for the Bulls. That's Skiles' style.

Milwaukee has made some moves already to put Skiles' type players on the court - like Ridnour and Jefferson. They've also brought on two of the Bulls' bench players in Malik Allen and Adrian Griffin.

Skiles did have Ben Gordon, but wouldn't play him more than 30 minutes a game and liked to use him as a 6th man for instant offense from the bench. That may be how he sees Redd.

Possibly, Herb Kohl has been very intrusive as an owner. After so many years of horrible basketball he seems ready to back off and let the people he's hired do their jobs. Last year Krystkowiak wanted to bring Redd off the bench as a sixth man, but didn't have the power to do so. He eluded to that in various interviews throughout the season, and then confirmed it after his firing. Hammond and Skiles have more power than any GM/coach combo in Milwaukee in a long time.
