There's more than one way to defeat a zone. Shooting over it is one way, but good ball movement is another, and ability to penetrate and collapse the zone is another.

Considering my top 3 players are good for 20 FTA per game, I would say the ability to find seams in the zone is there. Garnett would be dangerous in the high or low post, while my other 2 bigs are going to force a zone to stay packed in the lane enough that Brewer, Iverson, and Howard aren't going to have to shoot 3's to shoot over it.

You're gonna need someone to shoot, regardless.

Dampier and Collison aren't going to force anything to stay packed.

If a zone defense was able to shut down Team USA, which is very talented, what do you think it would do to a lesser talented team? Ball movement only goes so far. If you penetrate and collapse the zone, what do you plan on doing? Driving into the heart of the zone? Drive and kick? Kick it to who? There's no consistent long range threat.

The FTA will most likely be down since Garnett and Iverson both can't dominate the ball in the half court at the same time.

then my thoughts are you have tons of unproven talent that could be dynamite in Mayo and Rose, someone who needs a leader in Smith and someone who does well with a pass first PG in Martin who seems to be slowly improving after a lot of injuries.

I think Rose can become a good distributor, but adding a veteran back up will be a priority and adding someone who doesn't have to be a star, but has credibility as a winner to the team to lead the youth.

If you're building for the future, you have 3 potential all-stars.. very niiice.

    My team so far

C & PF (interchangeable depending upon matchup): Nene and Frye
    SF: Bowen
    SG: Kevin Martin
    PG: Brandon Roy

Getting skipped while I was driving hurt me a little bit with my top 3 choices all getting selected but the players fit together well so far. The backcourt will dominate the scoring while Nene and Frye can keep the floor spaced with Frye as a high post mid-range shooter and Nene playing in the low post. Bowen is a dangerous enough shooter that he has to be respected when parked at the 3 point line.

On defense, Bowen will take the toughest perimeter assignment and Nene the toughest interior assignment.

    PG: Conley
    SG: Captain Jack
    SF:
    PF: Dirk
    C: Oden

Dirk and Oden compliment each other so well, let Dirk play high post and hit his 3's, while Oden just dominates the paint and the defensive end, backing Dirk up. Putting Conley and Oden back together is a blessing. SJax is a good scorer and good defender.

I like your team Kid Chocolate.

I would have totally tried to trade up for SJax, if I wasn't so lazy and indifferent. :o
