My choice is Joe Flacco. This guy has all the makings of one of the next great QB's in this league. He has a monster arm, he's accurate, he's smart, and he's 6'6''. I think Troy Smith is going to be pretty good too, but not on Flacco's level.
Dunno a lot about the Ravens TBH- do they expect to compete this year or are they in rebuild mode? If its between Boller and Smith I'd probably say start smith because Boller seems incapable of improving in his what 5-6 years in the league. While Smith has his flaws he also can and probably will show improvement plus hes more dynamic on offense with the ability to run. Basically I'd give the job to whoever will fugg up less. If the ravens are going to win it'll be because of the defense and running game. All I'd want from the QB is to be efficient and to not turn the ball over. And if they're still losing several games into the season then definitely give the reigns to Flacco.
I think they're aiming for one last playoff run with that old defense. Then they might be in somewhat of a rebuilding mode.
Well if they're going for one last shot with that old D, then they might as well use Smith for the reasons Run stated. Personally I wouldn't even bother with that though, and start Flacco as soon as he has a good understanding of the playbook (whether that is the second game of the season, or the last one).
They made the trade for him, might as well play him. However, as a Steelers fan, I have zero faith in Smith so I'd rather see him play
Troy Smith. I still think he should be given a shot and gives the team the best chance to win. Don't get me started on Boller. Flacco is in the situation like Brady Quinn. There's no rush to get him on the field, and he's not costing what a top 10 pick would. Only should start if the team is done by midseason. Oh, and the Ravens have already started to get younger on D btw, even over the last few yrs, if anyone paid any attention.
Troy Smith. Give Flacco some time to grasp the system first. Boller sucks. And I am biased in wanting to see Troy Smith play.
Troy. Boller has shown in the past that he isn't good as the starter and I've heard bad things about Flacco out of camp.
Doesn't look like anyone wants the job. They seemingly have been waiting to give it to Smith but he was out last game because of an illness. But before then he hasn't exactly done much. I almost wanna say, just start Flacco and get it over with. Looks like it'll be a long yr anyway, regardless.
