Currently, I have 15 homepages when I start firefox for most of my frequently read tabs. I could easily add another 15, but I don't want to because then once I start opening links in new tabs, I get too many tabs to manage properly in one window.

Is there an easy way to get firefox to open a second window with another group of tabs? Should I look at using command line parameters?

For simple way of doing this, you could make 2 different Bookmark folders, place them in the Bookmarks Toolbar, and rightclick+"Open All in Tabs"

To use that properly though, wouldn't I need to set firefox to open with a blank page?

If you want to, it doesn't really matter - if you do the rightclick+"Open All in Tabs", it opens up every site in a tab in the current window, and replaces the current open tab in the window with the 1st website in the folder.

As in, if you had google as the homepage, and a bookmark folder of S2, realgm, netsdaily, and NBA.com, and you did rightclick+"Open All in Tabs", it would replace the google page with S2, and open up the other 3 sites in new tabs.
