The 3 most qualified candidates that ran this election were:

    1) Bill Richardson
He is governor now, served as Secy. of Energy and UN Ambassador. Executive branch experience: check. Foreign Policy experience: check.

    2) Mitt Romney
Former governor of Mass. and head of the Olympic Committee. Executive branch experience: check. Foreign Policy experience: check.

    3) Rudy Giuliani
Former mayor of NYC. Mayor of NYC is executive branch experience, organization larger than many states! Executive branch experience: check. Foreign Policy experience: not so much, though 9/11 thrust him into issues of Foreign Policy.

The LEAST qualified candidate, 3rd least qualified to least qualified:

    1) John McCain
As a long-time senator, he's suited to be VP/president of the Senate. Has a handle on foreign policy from the Senate's POV, but not the executive branch's. Has no staff ready-to-go to govern.

    2) Hillary Clinton
First Lady and 1.5 term Senator from NY. She lied about her access to decision process while First Lady, so almost no experience there. One term in the senate plus another where we paid her but she didn't show up for work (ran for president instead) isn't much experience.

    3) Barak Obama
Experience? LOL. Elected to a term in the senate, barely showed up for work at that job, and immediately ran for President.

oh, I've already seen it. I'm curious to see a list of your criteria, and the relative value of different sorts of experiences (not that I think that your list would come out any differently).

My criteria is specified in the first post. Executive branch experience, foreign policy experience (at least dealing with foreign powers), then experience in govt. in general.

I like good judgment on the most important issues of our time, Executive-Branch/Foreign-Policy experience, then the other stuff comes after that.

His judgment is in serious question when he takes a handful of very different positions (I guess depending on who he was speaking to) on, say, Iran.

The thought of any of your three most qualified candidates as president is as sickening to me as Don King being president.

Boxing would be on every TV channel!!

cpaw you must really overrate Don King's ability to govern if you place him in the same category as 3 experienced politicians. :P
