That is an awesome signing. I noticed that players that go to Hamburger SV seem to drop off the radar. Look at Gilberto, van der Vaart, Kompany and a host of others quality players. Quality Belgian players are always better off heading to England to play. Next we will likely see Defour and Dembélé among some likely others.
Check the videos and information I posted about both Belgians in the young players thread. Defour is already on Arsenal's list and he may move there before the end of the summer transfer window. Dembélé will be difficult to purchase because he's currently signed with AZ Alkmaar. He will cost at least €5m more then Defour and Defour is already priced around €8m and rising. When Arsenal approach Standard for Defour they will likely raise the asking price to €15m, which is a good deal for such a talent. Belgian clubs aren't known for screwing clubs over player purchases anyway.
I was gutted when i heard this. Arsenal have been after him for a very long time. But Wenger opted for the more Experienced Silvestre. And i put all my faith into his hands.
