like i said...game 1, he had identical stats to lebron. 21 pts or somewhere around there. it was a close game.

game 2 was pretty bad and for a vc fan like me, i was more mad at the refs for not calling fouls. he was driving and getting contact but nothing was called.

game 6 was embarassing. i had no idea what was going on there.

overall? great in round 1, disappointing in round 2. but pathetic? no way. of course im disappointed he didnt play well in round 2. they lost to the champs in 06 and lost to the eastern conference champs in 07. cavs had a much better team...combo that with vince being off his game, and you got yourself a loss. cavs defense was great too.

I quoted your Raptor statement. Vince's games 1, 2 and 6 were embarrassments.

And I don't care what Lebron's stats were vs. Nets in '07 playoffs.

Lebron went to Finals, and Vince shot about 36% in that Cavs series. Abysmal, and disgusting to watch.

i was talking about lebrons stats for game 1 not the series. lebron and vince were equal in that game.

disgusting to watch for some....disappointing for others :p

lebron had a much better team and lebron played much better than vince. no denying that. ive moved on since then though. it happens.

Equal stats do not necessarily mean equal performances.

As anyone paying attention should realize, it was Vince's lack of stepping up in the 4th qtr of game six, after Kidd had PERSONALLY brought Nets back in the 3rd qtr of that game, that defines Vince as a Net.

No single play defines him as a Net. You'd have to take into consideration his injury and missteps along with these

The thread is about Vince Carter, not a poster. Please don't go off topic.

    A game-winning shot. LOL!!!

In the playoffs? As a Net?

And a game-winning shot (I remember Lester Conner and Ray Williams hitting regular season game winning shots) is supposed to erase the fact that he doesn't put forth ultimate effort in the playoffs.

Ah yes, same old patented Montross garbage. Disregard the good things Carter did while bashing Carter for anything negative. Games 3 & 4 of the Nets-Raptors series? Never happened in Montross's universe!

Anyways, Carter was HUGE in getting the Nets to the playoffs and the sixth seed to draw the Raptors in the first round to begin with. He was absolutely dominant in games 3 & 4 coming out and burying the Raptors who found themselves in a hole early which they weren't able to recover from. Those two games gave the Nets a 3-1 cushion in the series and backed up their game 1 victory to take away home court advantage. And while Carter struggled in parts of game 1, he came up big down the stretch with key plays like setting up Nachbar for a crucial 3 as well as a driving layup to give the Nets a nice lead in the final minute and a half of the game.

Well, it's certainly clear you weren't paying attention because it was a lack of being able to make shots in the 4th quarter by the Nets AS A TEAM for them not being able to come out with the win and send the series to a game 7.

BTW, why no obsessive whining over the years about Kidd's performance vs the Pacers in the 06 playoffs like you do with Carter?

You want results, but you don't want results. Well if you only seem to care about playoff performances, that's fine. If nothing else matters to you I don't know what to say, except that I'll miss you in September and I'll see you in June.

ha, there are bigger Nets fans than myself.

If you really feel that strongly, that playoff performances matter and regular season performances don't, then I won't be seeing you around the site during the Nets season, because if you do then you're a hypocrite and you just used that as an excuse to bash Vince's victory. You're biased. When Vince doesn't win games he's horrible. When he does win games they don't count. Anyone can see that your opinion on Vince can't be taken seriously.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood. I think Vince is a big POS in the regular season also. Just doesn't reach the heights of 'dog' that he does in the playoffs.

And Vince is certainly on the level of Lester Conner and Ray Williams, as far as desire and passion to win.

You know, I'll have to amend that.

Vince is certainly below Lester's & Ray's level of desire and passion to win.

    Does that clear things up?

    Don't mess with my game.

If you said that you wanted results that only support your opinion you should have just asked. I'll be sure to withhold times that Vince won us games since you only care about posting for the sake of reading your won words, and reaffirming previously held beliefs.

Pal, you just believe what you believe, and I'll believe my eyes, and the circumstances as they exist in the NBA, and with Vince.

At this point, our views are conflicted.
