It's important for United to score in the first half of the game. I can't remember who said it, but I remember hearing an analyst saying something about United needing to score in the first half, and it is very true. A goal allows the side to relax and then play at their best which inevitably means more goals. With Quieroz gone, United seem to be lining up slightly differently, but this could in part be because Ronaldo is currently injured.

I would like to see this kind of lineup:

    -----------------VDS--------------
    Brown/Neville---Rio----Vidic----Evra
    Fletcher--Hargreaves--Scholes-Giggs
    -----------Rooney----Tevez--------

Rooney and Tevez have shown signs of a really great understanding when they have played up top together. If they can flourish in the next month/month and a half whilst Ronaldo is still injured, it could persuade Fergie to use this system in the already existing system which showcases Ronaldo.

Its going to be hard though until Ronaldo gets back. This is why we had to keep him, no matter the price, because without him, a lot of teams have a chance of beating us.

    I say we win 2-1 tonight. :)

I like 2-1 as the score, but I think it will be a jammy victory, Pompey to score first at around the half hour mark. Then United will probably score pretty soon after and then again in the last 15 or 20 minutes. Defoe to score for Pompey and Tevez and Rooney to score for United.

I wonder how much I could get on that...

I do like the Teves/Rooney link-up, but I feel as though they play to similar. A perfect match-up in my eyes is Vela-Eduardo/Adebayor, Defoe/Crouch, and Torres/Villa. Teves likes to roam around the attacking half of the pitch, and Rooney likes to lurk on the edge of the box.

Man. United have been notorious for starting the season a bit scratchy, and they end up getting 1st or 2nd at the end. It's the endurance, depth, and experience that wins the title for United; and they throw a bit of skill into that mixture too.

My dad is a big Pompey fan, so naturally I'm going to be for Portsmouth... 1-1 the final score. (Hargreaves/Crouch)

Does your dad root for Arsenal as well or just Portsmouth?

Just Portsmouth. My uncle supports QPR, and that wasn't a band wagon thing (because of the new funds), and some of my relatives are Arsenal fans.

Haha, yeah. Well, nobody in my family are Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, or United fans. None of my friends are Arsenal fans... Ha.
