Now with even more backup center! C: Yao Ming / Spencer Hawes / Jason Thompson PF: Rasheed Wallace / Danilo Gallinari SF: Hedo Turkoglu / Wilson Chandler SG: Delonte West / Daequan Cook PG: Mike Conley / DJ Augustin
PG: Gilbert Arenas, Earl Watson, Marcus Williams SG: Ronnie Brewer, Arenas, Iguodala, Luke Jackson SF: Andre Iguodala, Brewer, Luke Jackson PF: David Lee, Nazr Mohammed, Melvin Ely, Big Baby C: Samuel Dalembert, Nazr Mohammed, Big Baby
Iggy's my starting SF. He'd only play SG for me in a few situations. I figure Watson plays PG with Arenas at SG some of the time.
Small Ball Nellie style guys I think he might be taking Earl Boykins to add EVEN more center depth next lol PG: Starbury/Eric Gordon/Sergio Rodriguez SG: Mike Miller/Martell Webster/Eric Gordon SF: LeBron James/Shawne Williams/Martell Webster PF: Jermaine O'Neal/Reggie Evans/Wilcox C : Chris Wilcox/Jarron Collins I think I can limit injuries by playing Starbury around 30 min. and JO around 28 min since I have some good people off the bench for those positions.
The Knicks are talking about putting out a small frontcourt of Chandler, Galinari, and Lee. I assume Lee's the "center" and I've got the other two, so whichever plays the 4 will be my backup there- actually, he'd be Turk's backup there, since Hedo plays some 4. And I didn't watch him in college, but Thompson's listed as a PF/C a few places, never mind the fact I got a lottery pick who impressed in summer league in the 11th round.
Wait......Thompson impressed? Thompson certainly isn't lotto talent either, he was considered a reach, so don't go overboard with a project big since this is a one year thing
For some of us, this isn't a one year thing. There will be some of us discussing our teams in three years
I think for something like you evaluate the overall. As in the chances of winning this year, development in a few years, consistency in years to come, ability to stick around in their conference, stuff like that should all be considered. However, I think if we were to split our gradings of these teams by percentages, the championship THIS year should have a higher percentage then the rest, but NOT the whole evaluation. Remember we are building a team, and I think a team is built over multiple facets.
How much have you watched Thompson? He was a great college player but he's not ready to contribute consistently physically yet and still needs to learn alot. He hasn't faced many guys his size or as much talent as he will in the NBA. I know everyone has different opinions, but I want to know why you think he has lottery talent? Yeah, everyone will look back @ their teams but the judging is suppose to be for this year from what I understand. It's easy to comeback & say how developed your 11th round rookie is now.
If this is a look back thing we should do like a draft each year around the time of the NBA draft to add to these teams, where we can cut one player for them, the order determined by how we vote. Kinda like a sim-league/fantasy league but lazier. Of course we'd have to replace some guys and others would probably want to redo the draft in order to do it that way, or start it next year or something. This sounds like a terrible idea tbh.
I like how every time you respond it's "How much have you watched (insert player here)?" How many Rider games did you catch? Do you get a lot of them on the west coast?
I got that from this: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/rookies/blogs?playerId=3462&season=2009&playerRankingType=1&period=1&set=1&blogSet=0 and this: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jason-Thompson-594/ However, the point of my bench isn't to predict which rookie or even 2nd-year player will be great- it was to play the odds and predict that at least a couple will be, and my starting line-up would be good enough to be able to be patient with the bench.
