I think he's the best too. I think he'd wind-up with the most minutes in the end just due to Lopez being a rookie. But alongside Lopez I think Najera works better because of his experience and his ability to defend out to the perimeter.

It's going to be interesting to see how all things bigs work together. They all bring something a little different.

I agree, Yi is extremely athletic at 7 feet with 38 inch vert. He was also 4th in rebounding at the Olympic games. If Yi were to have problems, they would be mental. However, the Nets is a better fit for Yi than the Bucks of last season.

I want to hear more of Sean Williams this summer. How he's training and progressing. Yi and Williams are exciting players to watch. Boone on the other hand doesn't have as much up side. He'll have to work much harder to draw fans.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see Najera starting.

I agree with you. Whether it is a month into the season or rigth before Allstar Break, I think Boone will be coming off the bench. Lopez's post up game is going to trump whatever Boone does on the floor.

At PF, I doubt Najera starts, but with Frank you never know.

I hope Yi develops a killer mentality that is crucial for NBA success. If you look at successful NBA players like Kobe, LeBron, Wade... etc, all of these guys have the mentality to dominate and have the confidence in their own abilities. Yi doesn't have that confidence; if he is able to develop a sense of dominance, he will be a monster with his natural talent.

Skill and development is only limited by one's mentality. As long as the mentality has no limits, any achievement is possible.

Boone's experience is needed if we expect to win any games. So he'll start until Lopez proves that he is more valuable to the team given the style of offense we plan to run.

Lopez is the slowest, least athletic player on the team. But he has bulk, he takes up a lot of room in the paint, and is harder to shove around than our other big men. He also has low-post moves that will give us a new dimension against smaller centers we've never had before.

I'd imagine we'll come out running in every game, with the centers only needed for dunks. For that, Boone and Swat are better. But in the next shift, Lopez can dominate their backup. I agree with you that Najera will work better to cover up Lopez's inexperience mistakes. Yi would probably work better with less offensive minded centers like Boone.

This adds up to Boone/Yi followed by Lopez/Najera.
