If hes as good as it appears he is, then he wont come close to the record....teams will stay away from him, his numbers will fall, ignorant talking heads will wonder out loud "Whats wrong with Cromartie?"....in truth, the kind of player that could challenge the record would be a decent cover corner, playing opposite a much better CB, who eventually moves to safety and really takes to the position....

    100% correct.

Cromartie is as good as advertised...and because of that, his stats will drop, but his respect will rise. Teams will be afraid to throw at him, like they are Champ Bailey, but he'll still be regarded as one of the best CB's around.

Cromartie is a hawk with tipped passes though, he could still put out a decent empirical season.

He will have some nice statistical seasons....I wouldnt be shocked if he hits double-digits once more in his career or has a few seasons with 7 or 8 interceptions....the record is 81, and thats not going to happen for him, in my opinion....it may never happen for anyone ever again....a 12 year vet would have to average almost 7 a season, and 7 is a monster number today for one season, much less for 12 straight....

I just realized hes talking about the single season record....that also isnt happening for him this year....he will be lucky to get to 8, because teams arent stupid, eventually, they will just stop going at him....

Teams can avoid him all they want, but he'll get his. He's a ball hawk. He plays the ball like a WR, not a CB. I'm not worried about his stats, because he will have an impact on the game, even if it is being a shut down corner who isolates the QB to having one less option to throw to.

Pffff, he can't touch Nnamdi Asomogha's nuts. He'll likely get similar treatment as Aso and QBs just won't throw at him.

Chances are, he won't get the record. When teams figure out that they shouldn't throw at you, they don't. One season after Nnamdi Asomogha picked a bunch of passes, they only threw to him about 30 times in 16 games. They will go after the weaker CB.

    Mamba, get me into football.

Well more so than I already am....I follow Chargers loosely, and I'm a small fan due to my proximity to the city...

Followed the Bucs and Ravens more....back in my day
