I think Tomlinson got some real stupid heat for that playoff game. Ideally he shouldn't have to prove anything.
There is nothing for him to prove. He's a RB who relies on his ability to stop immediately, accelerate with no hesitation, and be able to cut and juke in a split second. He wasn't able to do any of that, he would've hurt us if he was out there. The only beef I had with him was him sitting with his helmet on the whole game. The problem in that NE game was Norv leaving in Michael Turner to run a sweep on 3rd and goal, when Darren Sproles was the quicker back. He should've inserted Sproles in to run that sweep or run Turner right up the gut. Whatever though, it's all in the past. I've got no hard feelings towards Norv, Tomlinson, or anybody else on this team.
I give him a couple years before we have to worry about it. He keeps himself in amazing condition. If Rivers can open up that passing game this year, that'll help extend LT's career a little, too.
If LT was injured; then why should he have played? Turner is a pretty good back, he can(could) get the job done. I never understood that. It wasn't like San Diego turned to some scrub. They had other good backs. And if LT wasn't healthy enough to produce better than Turner... then he didn't need to be on the field.
