Rays are looking to avoid getting swept by the Yankees tonight (first time I can ever remember rooting for the Yankees). If they win, they're 3.5 games up. They lose, the lead is 2.5. I'll keep track of their affairs in here and update when necessary.
It's tough to root for the Yanks. What it comes down to is: do you want to play Anaheim in the first round? I think I'd rather play them in a shorter series, but beating them will be tough either way.
Rays have lost the first two games in Toronto, and we could only capitalize on one so far. Still only 2.5 back, but I don't like wasting time.
And they're coming to Fenway next if I'm not mistaken. Dice-K, Lester, and Beckett lined up for that series. Things are looking up.
That's right. I forgot that series was next. That's pretty exciting, actually. Gotta be honest, I thought they had no shot at the division.
The Sox? I figured they would make things interesting before it was over. So none of this surprises me too much.
I thought they had a shot when Longoria and Crawford went down, but then the Rays started opening up their lead even more. I figured the Red Sox were just destined for the wild card. That it was "God's Plan" as Sarah Palin would say.
I'll admit that I didn't watch the game. The TV in my room is mentally retarded and doesn't get channels (its the video game TV), the remote for the living room doesn't work ATM, and all the other TVs were taken.
The soxs will win the series at Fenway and the Rays will win at the trop in a week, its what is happing all year. If the Rays go .500 to end the season, the Twins would have to win 18 of 19 to finish the season to get a playoff spot. I would rather the Rays play the Angels in the first round if they dont win the AL East, because we can win in LA but we cannot win in Boston. I just hope David Price comes soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Evan Longoria can come back in this series!
Jason Bay hit a 2 run HR in the bottom on the 8th to go up 4-3. Then Cinco Ocho comes in and gives up 2 runs immediately....
I didn't see the start of this one... tell me that Coco Crisp did not start hitting 4th behind Ortiz? please??
