    ^ To add to that, most teams in Europe, their whole budget is less than 150 million euros and here are City offering that amount for just one player. Big reason why there should be a salary cap in football. (like in the nba for example)

    The thing with the salary cap is that the FA would over-compensate, and make it way too low.

    It wouldn't be the perfect solution, but at this rate you'll have 5 or 6 teams that can afford all the top players and the rest will basically just suck season after season.

    I think a salary cap would have to be imposed by UEFA or FIFA. If the FA imposed it, players would be fleeing the country quick if there were no caps in other countries.

    Yeah exactly, it should be done world-wide, by Fifa and Uefa. It'll probably never happen though knowing that all the big leagues would be against it.

    Platini might be the guy to do it. It seems like he's opposed to having a few countries dominating the Champions League. A cap would do it.

    Of course, how would transfer fees fit into that?
