The mother of Titans quarterback Vince Young said he’s “hurting inside and out” and indicated he doesn’t want to play football. Felicia Young said in Wednesday editions of The Tennessean that her son is tired of all the negativity he’s faced after being booed during a 17-10 win Sunday over Jacksonville. On Monday, Titans coach Jeff Fisher called police to help find him. “What would you think, if you were tired of being ridiculed and persecuted and talked about and not being treated very well, what would you do? What kind of decision would you make?” Felicia Young said “He may not want to deal with it (all), but you have to get to that point before you make that decision first. “But we’re not talking about football right now. We’re talking about what would make him happy, and that is the most important thing.” http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...g5nYcB?slug=ap-titans-young&prov=ap&type=lgns
Wait, a high profile Vince with a mommy sticking her nose into his sports career. Where have I heard that before?
Haha, well done. You can probably tie this into those early retirement rumours from a while back as well as his initial hesitance to get back on the field after throwing an interception in week 1. The dude's head ain't on straight right now.
There was some idiot caller on Jim Rome's radio show today saying he guaranteed Vince was into drugs or something, it was so lame. However, I do think Vince should take a step back and analyze what he wants to do with himself. He'll hurt his team if he's not out there knowing he wants to be there. He's a terrible QB, anyways. Who was that major Titans' fan that we had on JBB who defended VY to the end? I'd love for him to show up, now. He's not a pro QB. He doesn't have the accuracy, heart, or toughness to make it. He's making a mockery of himself by having his mom call out to the media and by having Jeff Fisher having to go to the cops to find him. If your head is not in the game, don't take the field.
He is pretty crappy in general but he has an intangible winning quality. I will say his passing has been a disappointment so far. We knew he wasn't that good coming into the league but figured with his great athleticism, arm strength, and will to win the passing would come later. So far he hasn't shown much improvement. I mean even Monday night we saw Tavaris Jackson and Jamarcus Russell, two very young QBs drafted largely for their physical gifts and who are considered 'raw' and 'projects', start to air it out when their teams were down big and they looked very good. It goes to show just how good any starting QB in the NFL is and just how bad VY is because he messes up so many routine throws. There's still a lot of teams out there who would gladly have him despite the crappy passing because he is a winner. Hes just not a complete QB and may never be.
