So yeah, They are my favorite South American nation since I'm half spanish-half paraguayan I guess? haha Anyway, last night they defeated Venezuela in Asuncion to make us absolute leaders of the South American eliminatorias standings. Which makes me very happy
Lol Spanish/South American commentators are so passionate and really pump you up... lol Unlike American and British ones... blehh
I can't understand any of the words as they are speaking too fast, but I love the way they put everything into it.
Nice video, Paraguay are doing really well in WC qualification. Spanish-speaking commentary is definitely better then those in the United States. I couldn't watch the World Cup in 2006 on ESPN because their commentary was so horrible. They'd ramble on and on about nonsense, usually about how Kasey Keller (lol) is the best goalkeeper in the World, then someone would score and they'd stop and literally go, "hey, a goal, great .. so as I was saying." I ended up watching the entire World Cup (excluding the final) on a Hispanic channel. As for English commentators, some of them are bad, but others provide so much detail, which is why I prefer them over any others aside from the French. The French and English commentators are similar in the way that both provide a lot of information about players and other key aspects to the match.
I forgot about them yeah, I'd add them to my top list. However, Irish commentators are the worst. They all seem to know little about the sport they cover and yet have a huge opinion about it. The worst being for Setanta when the Rugby World Cup was still going on. They kept praising the Irish team even though they sucked. They talk little about the other teams. I understand that it is an Irish network, but hey, you have exclusive rights to air the cup in several countries so don't be a biased piece of shit. That's not professional.
The current ESPN commentators aren't that bad. JP Dellacamera is solid and Marcelo Balboa/Eric Wynalda/Alexi Llalas are long gone. John Harkes is pretty good in the booth and Shaka Hislop was a nice addition for the T&T match.
Don't like ESPN or their commentary. I've heard far better. Not usually, but France has a really good one.
I've only heard Michelle Tafoya and he's awful. Also, I wasn't saying that ESPN is good for their soccer coverage. I was just saying that JP Dellacamera knows how to call a soccer match and John Harkes is pretty decent as an analyst. Balboa and Wynalda were terrible.
