I like the way the scoring is, you can build/loose a lead in one card just like that. Hopefully I can keep this lead for right now.
Updated standings, I've moved into first, one whole point ahead of Valo35, who can't make a bad pick it seems. Damn Valo what are your sources ??? I dropped Ghoti as he's only participated in one card and has skipped the rest. I'll gladly add him again if he decides to start playing again. we're half way through Season 2 and with the new scoring system, you can quickly move up or down the standings so it should be a tight race to the finish
Wikipeedia, you can learn anything from them.. I just wish that I could learn to pick the correct round's and way of winning. I would be much better if I could do that, because I seem to never get those right.
Only 13 points away from first place, and with how this scoring system goes, I can close that in easily. With how many fights we have left and this scoring system, I think anyone above 400 points still has a chance to win this thing. With a couple of big point days and they are right back in it. Should be an interesting race to the finish.
Not so fast my friend.... I'm just want you to feel good about yourself before I take 1st and crush your hopes for this season.
I've been doing this the whole time without understanding the scoring system. How does the 1-10 work?
Pretty much, you take however many fights there are. Say like there are five fights for the day, then 1-5 is what your going to use to score because there are only five fights. Whichever fight you are most sure of the winner, you put a 5 next to it. Whichever fight you are least sure of a winner gets a 1. And you just do it like that, so whichever you are 2nd most sure of would get a 4, whichever you are second least sure of would get a 2. And the the last one remaining would get a 3. If you get the fight right, then you get the amount of points that is next to it. So if you put a 5 next to it, and get it right, that is 5 points you get. Did that help out a bit?
they're confidence locks, to avoid everyone having the same score a lot. For example, if you're pretty sure Anderson Silva is going to win his fight, you give him say a 10 confidence lock. If he wins, you get 3 points for the win + 10 points for the confidence lock and of course +3 for getting the correct round and method of victory. If you think it's a close call and either fight can win, give your pick a low confidence lock. make sense?
Ah, I get it know. I knew they were confidence lock, but I didn't know how the point distribution with them worked. Thanks guys!
Standings updated after last nights fights.. was a rough night for record, but a solid night for points. Speeds, Mamba and Chocolove have a heck of a fight going on with 8 pts seperating them. Trench is right on my tail for first CK is dipping as he's missed 2 events in a row... guess I should start PM'ing him again next event is September 4 so we get a small breather. let's see if we can get a couple of more ppl playing
yeah I'll try and update it soon, been busy with work and sick baby. got a job interview tomorrow so been studying up on that too.
sorry for the delay all, but the standings have been updated. we have 2 more events to go with loads of fights on both cards so there's plenty of opportunity to for movement and to get a better seeding for the Grand Prix. I hope we can get all 12 ppl in the Grand Prix as it would make for an exciting tourney.
Still in third, but I gained on CelticFan by 5 points, now i'm less than 20 away. Enjoy 1st for your short time, because come Silva/Cote ppv, I'm getting it back...
