I think Rampage can dominate this division. I don't think Forrest did enough to dethrone him for the title, but the past is the past and you can't change it. If he can clear up his legal issues, I think he will regain that belt and hold it for awhile.
I think a year or two ago everyone would've said Shogun, but we don't know if he's still the same fighter he was in PRIDE. My vote goes to Machida. Nobody has been able to counter his style, and his teammates are the best in the world.
Fedor and that's it. there is such a diverse group of fighters who are all strong in many different aspects, there are not Anderson Silva/Fedor/BJ/GSP in the 205 division. Actually it's more like there's a huge group of top of the chain p4p guys in the 205 division and no one will dominate because the talent is so damn good. Evans can be beat IMO but no one has done it yet, Forrest has been beat but is the champ so he's no joke, Shogun lost his sole fight in the UFC, but his 2006 Grand Prix run in Pride showed how damn good he can be, Rampage with his head no straight is a beast, Machida confounds everyone, Wand is the most intimidating of the group and if he's back on track he's a title contender for sure and we're still not sure how good Thiago Silva and Sokoudju is or isn't. Jardine is not at the top of the list, but he can still beat anyone on any night IMO. Now toss in Rich Franklin, the man with 3 losses remember and yow.. 205 is stacked with 9 of the 35 best fighters in the world IMO.
domination is usually attributed to winning like 4 or 5 in a row. I'm guessing Rampage, Forrest, or Rashad Evans have the best shot at pulling something like that off. However in the LHW division it is definitely hard to pull it off.
Theres no dominant fighter at 205. Anyone of the aforementioned can win a fight against each other. My favorite fighter at 205? Wandy!!!
