Ok, quite a few years ago a young boy was killed in my home state. If I remember right he was killed doing something with his parents that I thought was insane for them to be letting him do. I can't remember what but I remember that they had tv crews at his house because it was a big story. The parents lived in a single wide trailer I believe. Anyway, they had a candlelight vigil inside the trailer and everyone went to the graveyard for a memorial. The people left all the candles burning in the trailer and it burned the trailer to the ground. When I heard this I laughed my ass off. How horrible am I? I mean, use an example with famous people. Like...worse than Ted Bundy but better than Hitler.
It's perfectly normal to find irony funny. Contextually you introduce other emotions (probably sadness), but if you have no emotional connection, and you just look at the situation, it's not wrong if you laugh. I smiled when I read it, I'll say that much.
sometimes when things are so bad, you either laugh or your cry, so long as you recognize that it's a shitty thing that happened, then I see no issue with laughing at the absurdity of the horrible thing that happened to this poor family by losing their home.
One time this dude stopped by my house looking for someone else. He had an old TransAm and we started talking. He was stereotypical white trash for sure. His kids got out of the car and one boy had a missing arm. The guy was telling me that he was looking for this other guy because he got money and wanted to fix up his car. He got the money from suing John Deere because the kids grandma ran him over and severed his arm with a riding mower. I wanted to choke the guy for two reasons. 1. He shouldn't be spending the kid's money to fix up a rusty Pontiac and 2. He should have never had the money in the first place, it was a riding lawnmower not a kiddie swimming pool edit...I asked the guy if the mower was defective, he said no the kid just ran out behind her when she was backing it up. But yeah, I wasn't emotionally connected to the first poor kid. Just mad that he suffered because he had stupid parents. I guess I wanted them to suffer for their stupidity.
Well if you're ever worried about if something's wrong with you, just remember this story where you showed compassion. The doctor is in.
I laughed too, but I don't think anything is wrong with me because I am not laughing at the boys death or the family losing their home but, rather, something extremely ironic that happened.
Yup. You my friend are going to Hell I laughed too so i guess I'll see you there. -->The Devil <---Me
If I am going to hell, I will get what I deserve. I wanna try that donut machine that Homer Simpson beat.
