9-13-08- Shaun Livingston looks to be coming very close to joining the Timberwolves for this upcoming season. The Timberwolves are currently trying to get a deal done that would bring in the former Clipper after they just worked him privately a few days ago. Portland and Miami are the other two teams that are interested in Livingston.

Thankfully for T-Wolves fans, McHale can't sign him to a max contract and since the Clippers renounced him, he can't sign and trade him for the max either.

I was hoping Boston would get him.

Meh, who knows how good he'll be. But I guess the Wolves saw something in him. I guess I'll trust McHale's judgment (risky).

I think signing him would be great for both Livingston and the Wolves.
Very low risk if he doesn't want too much to sign, and very high reward in a position Minny really needs help in.
And with the rebuilding process that the Wolves are in, Shaun won't havethe pressure of having to impress right away, and can develop at a more moderate pace.

This applies to the team that gets Livingston, not necessarily the Wolves, but wouldn't it make sense to put him in the D-League for part or all of this year? He needs to get PT for all the time he missed, and that will do it for him.

I don't see how signing him hurts. He's likely going to come (relatively) cheap and could prove to be a solid PG still, despite the injuries. Remember, he's only what, 22? So he's right around the age of a lot of rookies. He's still got plenty of talent too, it's just a matter of how healthy he is. If he's healthy, he could be a great PG, if he's not, well, then you're likely not going to lose too much cash here.
