So, what does everyone think of him? So far this season, he has looked putrid. I would go so far to say he has been one of the five worst QBs in the league this year after being a Pro Browler last year.

I'm thinking that last year could have been because of the whole contract year thing. I mean, really, how many times have we seen it in sports? Contract year...player has career season...it's a pretty consistent trend (see: Erick Dampier).

My question is, how patient are you going to be with him? If he plays bad for the next couple weeks, do you bring in Brady Quinn, or do you hope that Derek turns it around so you don't like a moron for giving him so much cash?

I personally go with the former, but that's just me. And personally, I would have NEVER given Derek Anderson the big contract in the first place.

I'd have given him that contract.

Its a 3 year deal; at worst, he is around for 2 years. Cleveland has the cap space. And when it comes to the QB position... they thought Anderson was the answer. You need to pay him if you think he is the answer. They did.

Its been two games. Against two elite teams. One game, the Browns were one dimensional in the second half due to a porous defense. Any QB can and will struggle when forced into a 1 dimensional game plan. In the other game, gale winds prevailed. Hardly the best barometer of what Anderson is.

That being said, with a good OL, a good TE, a good #1 WR... I'd say he's disappointed. But some of that he cannot control (weather, playing from behind, dropped passes in bunches, etc).

QB can and only does have a certain amount of impact on a game. To throw the 0-2 start at the feet of Anderson is unfair IMO.

Lastly... Brees started out the year poorly (2007 season). 2 games is not an entire season. Plenty of time to correct it.

Well, unfortunately for him, things don't get too much easier this week as they go against the Ravens. If he struggles again, I might give him a pass, but if he can't manage to light up Cinci in week 4, something's wrong.

And his pathetic season continued today. 14/37 for 125yds, 1td and 3ints. I realize they invested a lot of money in to him and that they've played some tough defenses, but at what point do you pull the plug? He's had three bad games to start the season and really tapered off near the end of last season too, so it's not like him sucking has been something that's been recent, it started last year and has just continued to this year.
