At what price would you welcome JKidd home?

Some silly HoopsWorld article implied with JKidd's decline he might have a hard time getting a MLE deal next season... Would you welcome a JKidd at 50% of what most remember him as for the MLE? Or has he burnt all his bridges?

Me? I'd love to see him come back to finish his career with the Nets, but not if it effects our 2010 cap negatively.

I do recall LBJ and others from the ReDeem team saying they won't play on the 2012 team if he were not on it.

I don't think he's burned ALL his bridges, but he'll never suit up with Vince Carter again.

He's a free agent in 09, so he's not coming to the Nets next summer. He'll probably pull a Malone.

If it is just a one year deal and he's free again in 2010, I'd welcome him back, but there's probably better prospects to sign at that point. Maybe vet's min?

So, in summary, it is just a nostalgic dream.... :sigh:

Wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland gives him the MLE next season in an attempt to keep Lebron in 2010.

... Wow, didn't even think about that. But it would make sense.

    I totally agree with you.

    1) No way he plays with VC.

    2) I see him doing a Malone for a year.

    3) If we really want lebron and VC isnt here, I say we get him for cheap and cock block Cleveland.

... Why would he play for the league min. next year? Don't think he can do that a few years from now?

Correction, I should have said "Pulling a Payton", who signed the MLE with the Lakers in his mid-30s (and that's a team I could see him going to, as well)

I know, but Malone signed for LLE exception (close to the min) and Payton got the MLE deal.

The price was about $100, lower level, December 19th. Should be a good game.

    Oh wait

This so? I think he'll look as slow if not a step slower. if not from the age factor... at least due to the lack of a real offseason. I think he'll have to log minutes in the pre-season too, as there will be a new coach that will want to run new set plays or lack of which his team mates will need to get accustomed to.

I saw nothing this summer on the olympic team that would lead me to believe that.

I think the Mavs became the Nets circa 2006. Unfortunately for them they play in the west.

The way he left NJ and the comments he made, i don't there's a good chance. However, if we can sign him cheap, he can play backup PG to Devin, definitely not starter.

We will never see Jason Kidd in a Nets uniform again. If their one thing Jason Kidd has its pride. And how do you think it would look to come crawling back for cheap, especially the way he left last season? Also this guy is obsessed with winning a ring(which he deserves). Unless we are a power house 3-4 seasons from now, I don't see him coming back to Jersey. I see him signing with what ever team needs a good veteran as a backup to a good young PG*Cough Utah Cough*, with a stacked team that is destined to win the finals. A ring is the only reason this guy is still playing ball. If he had won with the nets in the early 2000's...he would be playing in a charity golf tournament right now on the Vahalla course getting ready to watch the Ryder, instead of giving away gold medals and getting ready for training camp with American athletes that don't "celebrate" the national anthem.

    Almost ironic isn't it........

And yet he desperately wanted to sign an extension with the Nets that would have made him virtually untradeable.

    That's ironic.

Kenyon Martin won't opt out of his contract in 2010 (I've recently come to terms with this...but it's still a sensitive subject for me :()

Lebron James in 2010, sign and trade (ok ghoti, I'll acquiesce for now, it'll involve Carter)
    Jason Kidd MLE 2010
    Kenyon Martin MLE 2011

    OH SH*T
