I don't see how things wouldn't be harmonious with a president who rides on a unicorn. It is like when George Washington riding on Nelson, only better, because it's a unicorn and not a horse.

 

Funny, my impression was that McCain had a much better bipartisan record than Obama...

But my point was actually an overarching one. Our system of government is expressly designed for the executive and legislative branches to be trying to wrest power from each other. It's an integral part, not only of the federal balance of power, but of the underlying political philosophy of American government.

If Obamas short time he's spent as a Senator is any indication of his willingness to work with Republicans then no, he won't be able to do anything in congress.
