As for Watkins... I hope to god he has grown since his rookie year. He was pitiful as a rookie. He better have improved.

As for Newman, glad he's back. Against the Packers spread offense, we'll need him.

As for Anderson, this will hurt special teams. Good wedge buster.

As for Folk, 11-13 over 40 yards? You've got to be kidding me.

    No lead blocker? wtf?

Felix Jones end-around on downs 1 and 2. Throw on 3.

Witten can do it. Problem is, that means Witten is the lead blocker and not out there catching passes.

But for a game or three, we'll be ok. I'll go look it up, but I think Barber can better last year out of single back sets than he did in 2 WR with a FB set...

    LOL, lame....

I still have visions of Watkins getting lit up for something like 200 yards and a couple (maybe 3) TDs against the Eagles as a rookie.

I heard the Cowboys are expecting big things out of Watkins.

What's his future with the team look like? As far as I know Roy Williams was starting to slow down just a little (even before his current injury). Is Watkins being groomed to replace him at some point? Or is he the FS of the future while Hamlin just keeps the seat warm?

Its hard to say, really. He was god awful as a rookie when he started.

Last year, he was actually pretty solid (when Roy moved to LBer in our dime; Watkins came in at S)....

Now, we are about to find out. Watkins may be better than Roy in coverage... but he isn't a force against the run. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Against Green Bay, Watkins might be a better solution... Against Washington; Roy is a better fit.

Hey Vintage what do you think of James Marten? Sorry to go OT but didn't think this was worth making a thread out of. I figure he must not be that good if the Cowboys put him on waivers but apparently they were desperately hoping he wouldn't get picked up before the Raiders got him.

He looks like he is on his way to being a bust. That being said, I did NOT want to cut him. I wanted to give him another year. He needs to get stronger; he wasn't dominating at the LOS. He looked slow footed too, when he did play. He might be better suited at OG. And we did try and play him there too.

I really wanted to give him another year... but it didn't look promising, regardless.
