I don't think it was that bad of an injury, or at least I hope not. Andrews is one of the best guards in the entire league, and probably the most talented offensive lineman on our roster. We need him if we're looking to go far this year. As for Jean-Giles, I'm actually pretty high on him. Obviously he isn't as good as Andrews, and he does make some silly mistakes here and there, but he's actually a very good run blocker. If Andrews is going to be out a couple of games, I fully expect Jean-Giles to step up and produce given the minutes.
Jean-Giles has always been a good run blocker. The question is his pass blocking. Actually, I read somewhere awhile ago (last season), that when Runyan is done, there is some discussion of moving Andrews over to RT and Giles taking Andrews place. That's a lot of beef on the right side of the OL. Of course, this was also under the assumption of Justice taking over at LT in the future too, which is now questionable. I don't think Andrews could be a LT. But he might be able to play RT.
^ Never heard of that but it's interesting. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Eagles use their two first round picks in next year's draft for future offensive lineman to learn under Thomas and Runyan. As for Winston Justice, well, I really don't have much hope for him. Hopefully he proves me wrong, but I'd be happy if he just turned out to be a decent backup tackle, that's it.
Well, going by the limited time I've seen Justice play, I don't doubt you'll be looking at LT in the near future, again. LTs are so hard to find. We'll be going through it too. Flozell isn't getting any younger, either.
