Arenas confirms surgery; says he'll be back in December

    Maybe this is why he gave the Wizards a break on his deal? j/k

    Interested to see how this signing turns out with Gilbert missing all this time, and in the past season.

    He missed 71 total games (including a couple in the playoffs) last season. I am indeed troubled by this additional news.

    Bad news, they played well without him last year anyways, they should of tried to pull off a sign and trade with GS or the Clippers (I think they were the teams going after him?)

    Imagine if the Clippers got Arenas and Brand went to Washington in a S&T....Washington would be solid.

    Yeah, they would have had to have kept Roger Mason Jr too. He was pretty good for them last year

    Haha definitely dodged a bullet there huh? I sure do hope he recovers, I always loved watching Arenas play.

    Well, at least he's getting the surgery now. There's no saying that when he comes back he won't be as strong as ever (see Amare for proof that it's possible). Plus, you can't think that the Wizards didn't at least think this was a possibility when he signed the deal. If I'm correct, he did sit out the last couple playoff games because of the knee, so that should have given them a red flag to begin with.
