I was just about to post this. This guy is such a loser. He is the reason why there is such a negative image of black basketball players. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nDxf35b06s4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nDxf35b06s4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
He definitely is a loser Sloth. I used to want him on the Blazers, but I would be pissed if he was in Portland.
yes he said something in a stupid way, but think about what he said, essentially he said he doesnt agree with the national anthem. About 60 percent of people in austrtalia dont agree with the national anthem. He's got every right to state his opinion, her just did it in a stupid way. What about when hendrix played it at woodstock, same thing, throwing it back in americas face with an electric guitar (remember they were still pretty "in your face" at the time). So, thats my opinion on the whole thing, sorry to those of you who i have offended, if i have.
I don't see how anything about Australia is even relevant here, but anyway...60%? Is that fact or just some number you made up? When you say they don't 'agree' with it, are you saying that they don't like what it stands for or says? I thought the criticism was due to the actual sound and lyrics, because it was deemed 'boring'. Sandy Macdonald, a government senator, told parliament that the anthem, Advance Australia Fair, should be ditched "before we all go to sleep singing it". The anthem, composed in 1878, was officially adopted to replace God Save the Queen in 1984 after exhaustive surveys of public opinion and a national vote. Mr Macdonald said Waltzing Matilda was one of a number of national songs that had "wonderful tunes and words" and were quintessentially Australian. He said the public "want to love their national anthem, but I don't think they do - they are bored by the music and find the words impossible to understand". Hendrix's version of the Star Spangled Banner with an electric guitar wasn't "in your face" or disrespectful. It was just an artistic interpretation and is viewed as one of the greatest guitar performances of all time, as well as one of the greatest renditions of the Star Spangled Banner. Next you'll be telling me Marvin Gaye disrespected it at the '83 all-star game by adding an R&B flow to it. No way. Howard admitted to off-season drug use and slandered the United States' national anthem. Chad Johnson asked to be traded and 'excessively celebrated'. Not even close.
Chad Ocho Cinco (still sounds beyond retarded) is nowhere near Josh Howard. He's never disrespected the national anthem or anything to that extent. Sure his celebrations are over the top and he's pretty outspoken, but he's hardly disrespectful to this country. As for Howard, what a douche. I've always respected him as a player, but as a person, not anymore. He's done and said a lot of stupid things over the past year and this is just compounding to it.
Once upon a time, Howard was considered quiet and timid. It was only after the checks got cashed and his future was secured did Howard reportedly once reveal: "I think like a Democrat but because of my tax bracket, I'm a Republican." Source: ESPN Stephen A. Smith
