Dumb mistake... but in the end, it didn't matter. Eagles still came away with the TD

    And lol @ Laws-Caveman comparison

Desean pulled a similar stunt in college. He seems like a great young talent, but I do think he gets a bit too cocky at times. I'm sure something like this won't happen again though. Reid, McNabb, and the rest of the team leaders must have sat down and had a talk with him. He's lucky we still scored a touchdown on that drive. I would hate to be him if the Cowboys got possession...

Some of the problems Desean had coming out (besides size) were questions of maturity.

There is no denying he's very explosive. I wasn't glad to see him go to a division rival. I wanted Dallas to get him in round 2, as a matter of fact.

I never understood the need to showboat. I mean how stupid do you have to be to toss the ball away while you're still running toward the end-zone?

I don't really think it was a case of showboating. Dropping the ball is pretty harmless in the scope of things as far as TD celebrations go.

He just screwed up (royally) when he did it before scoring.

He didn't drop it, he chucked it aside. Even if he did drop it, that's not something to be proud of either. :)

I guess I view using the ball as a prop, chucking it at a stadium wall where a handicapped person sits a la Mike Furrey, and dancing/excessive TD celebration as worse than chucking the ball aside after scoring...

Actually, the only thing I have a problem with is the Furrey incident. Everything else, I'm ok with. Assuming, you know, you crossed the goal-line.
