Or maybe you don't think there should be a captain...

I voted Kaberle but really is there anyone really worth it? Maybe one of the new guys might get it.

I agree with Wilson that we should wait and see who steps up. It's a good incentive for someone to step up considering all that comes along with being a 'Leafs Captain'.

Maybe it goes most of the season before someone breaks through and separates themselves from the pack but I think having a clear-cut leader is best moving forward with a young team. Also most of the team sucks.

Well then you know very well that Steve Y was an incredible players but as a captain, there may not have been many better.

Especially original six! Each of the captains represent a rich history associated with the teams that captain played for.

I should be able to type four names and you should admit that captains are important, if they're chosen carefully.

    1. Steve Yzerman
    2. Gordie Howe
    3. Ted Lindsay
And yeah I'm going to say it,
    4. Nicklas Lidstrom

Those are the kind of guys you want guys turning to when they're tapped and the game is going into OT. Those guys take a Stanley Cup winner and make them something that people will remember for years.

Maybe captains are becoming less important, although I don't know how. But you've got me wondering how are the best captains in the NHL today and also of all time?????? ...

Brutal that the Leafs have to choose between those four players. None of them are bad players, but still.

Tomas for me. I think he is a great player and has been good to the team. He deserves it. Nik is to fragile to carry around the C.

Curtis Joseph deserves it the most.

Definitely Kaberle IMO. Although it doesn't mean much in the long term anyways. He's a good but not great player that probably won't be the best candidate for captaincy by the time the team's turned it around (if they ever do). He'd go down as an overlooked captain like the ones between Sittler and Wendel Clark.

Nik was a beast along the boards last year.

I think Tomas would be a good choice but he doesn't seem like a rah-rah kind of guy. Which may be fitting considering his job this year would be to keep the heads held high and the team moving forward.

Toskie was saying yesterday that with no one making a superstar's salary, everybody feels they are on the same level as everyone else.

I was offered box seats for the Buffalo game but it's going to take a lot to get me into the ACC this year.
