While Guida only has himself to blame, some of the logic presented here makes it a tad more understandable.
For anyone who's new to the sport, not making weight is a big no-no as fighters hate cutting weight but do it to gain an advantage. Those who don't make it are looked down upon by other fighters.

    Sorry, where is this from?

Anyways, how anyone can defend or feel sorry for JG is beyond me. It wasn't just that he missed weight--he was clearly out of shape.

But he still signed a fight contract with XC so I guess it didn't matter.

Nah dude, he was fat. Guida's last fight was at heavyweight. He weighed 241 pounds against Michael Russo in June. He was way out of shape and couldn't get down to 205 for the show.

Well to be fair, if he got to 207, he was out of shape, just not way out of shape.

and in the end it was his fault, as the article says.

He does carry more fat than he should, but I doubt he was cutting from 241 pounds. Seems a tad high. He probably lost some weight before the show.

if he WAS told he wouldn't have to fight to get in the house, well that's fucked up. but IMO I don't think that is true, a lot of guys said they came ready to fight.
