When I created the United States forum, I originally named it "North American Leagues." I figured there really isn't going to be much discussion of Mexican Primera or the lowly Canadian Soccer League - just MLS, US-based cups and the occasional USL pop-up.

Do you guys believe the name of the forum should be different? My personal opinion is that it should expand into a "North American Leagues" forum with sub forums only if we can gain a stronger Spanish-speaking community.

Vote for which name you like (explain please) or write a new one down in here.

I voted North American Leagues, just due to the fact that it included more, but doesn't require the knowledge of what CONCACAF means.

I agree and voted the same way.

Everyone will know that they can talk about MLS or the US cup in the North American Leagues forum, so might as well make it more inclusive.

I don't agree with any of these options. This leaves South America in the dark. Also, the problem with calling it the CONCACAF is that people may get confused with the European sub-forum being called UEFA. I dunno.

I think it should be called North & South American Leagues.

If we name it Americas that leaves too much into one open forum. We already have little Americas discussion about leagues outside of MLS. That's why I don't care to change the name back.

Fair enough. In that case, I'll vote the first one, just to make Shookem angry.

I haven't seen anyone post about Mexico or Canada. Why bother changing?

I'd just like to say, that if you have no interest in the football forum, or even know what we're talking about, don't vote! It just confuses things.

    Thanks M.

I don't see a reason to change it to anything other than "MLS", since nobody gives a crap about the Canadian league and we don't have a Mexican fanbase. If something comes up about Canada/Mexico once in a blue moon, it can go in the General forum.

Umm.. Looking foward it would be nice to have a forum for North American leagues, Mexico, US, honduras and their CONCACAF champions league etc.. Also It would be nice to have a South American forum. Where we can talk about Brazilian, Argentinian, Paraguayan, Uruguayan, chilean leagues and Copa Libertadores which is the 2nd best club tournament in the world. There are LOTS of great players that come out of South America. And to not include them would be such a shame. :D

Also I don't care about the fact that we don't have any people commenting on the Mexican or Colombian or whatever league. The point is to make the site as complete as possible and offer our members the entire football experience. Which is not just the EPL or la liga.. There are many great league that don't get recognized but have to be included because they are part of the entire football spectrum. Eventually, It would be nice to have forums on all continents of the world and their leagues. But I don't want to get ahead of myself lol.

Claud, this isn't about showing respect to a country. We don't need a specific forum for leagues that don't create enough discussion here. The Netherlands forum is already on the brink of being removed and having the posts moved to general football. That is the point of having general football forum is to prevent a ton of forums from being created and using it for leagues that don't create a lot of discussion.

Well I personally believe that The Eredivisie should not have it's own forum. I agree that the EPL, La Liga and Il calcio should because without a doubt they are the best 3 leagues in the world and generate discussions because most people can identify most players in those leagues( Or at least the famous ones.). I think that we should put the German, French, Dutch, Greek, Russian leagues in one big forum, and then make some sub forums for each to avoid confusion. And then make a sub-forum for the rest of the European leagues. That way we have everything organized and congruent to the activity level of each. :sherlock:

You propose to leave England, Italy and Spain alone and then group other European countries into another forum about Europe? That is even more confusing. If we had more activity I would like to create continental forums and give countries that create a lot of discussion their own individual sub forum. Countries like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Russia, Turkey, etc all deserve their own forums because their leagues are important, but we do not have regular discussion about those leagues and the forums would be of no use. What would be the point in having forums if they're not going to be used much if at all right now? There would be too little of members with too many forums to search around in. That's the point of using the general football forum for leagues that don't create a lot of discussion at the moment. We need more active members with a wider range of interest in order to go through with creating more individual country forums. I want to do that, but we just don't have the numbers.

    :dunno:
I agree that we don't have the numbers, but we can educate new comers about all the leagues I guess?:dunno:
Also what I personally think would be the best way to set all the European football forums are as follows:
Give the EPL, Il calcio and La Liga their own forum; with subforums to the most important teams from each leagues, for example, AC MIlan, Madrid, Arsenal etc..

Then Create another forum where we can put the French, German, and the other European leagues that are important, but not as much as the other 3 leagues I mentioned before. For the rest of the other small European leagues, just have one subforum where you can post all you want about the Albanian, Croatian, Danish or whatever leagues.

Does this make any sense? :dunno:

    Chilean Primera

    Russian Premier League

Barclays Premier League, though not my favorite, creates the most discussion right now. The only club outside of the Premier League that would create a good amount of discussion is Real Madrid. I'd love a Karlsruher SC and Osasuna forum, but I'm not complaining because I'd be the only one in either forum just as it was back on S2 last year when we did this.

I understand what you're proposing, but wouldn't it be better to group all European countries into a European forum when we have more active members? We don't have any discussion about leagues from smaller footballing countries in Europe.

Is there a single thread about SAS Ligaen or Prva 1.HNL? I don't see a single one. In fact, I notice I'm really the only one creating threads with information and stats about certain leagues and they receive little discussion.

Yeah I understand M21. So you're saying we make one European football forum, then a bunch of subforums?
