Nah, it's enough that Kobe tore apart that championship team for the greater glorification of his own ego. The fact that he got away with rape I find to be a disgrace.

    Ignorance is bliss.

Given the lack of desirable destinations for Kobe, I don't think he'll be out looking for a max length deal. Certainly max dollars, but maybe over 3 years rather than 6. He has a lot of miles on his legs and he has to head downhill at some point. He'll probably stay in LA anyway.

If he flirts anywhere, it will be with the Knicks or Brooklyn Nets.

So are we just gonna ignore Shaq screaming "Show me the money!" to the owner while playing in a preseason game? Are we gonna ignore Shaq's comment that "I heal on company time" when he decided to get surgery he needed at the END of the summer. Are we gonna ignore the fact that if the Lakers had given Shaq the max we wouldnt have Kobe and only a fat, old, and broken down Shaq? Dumping Shaq, while painful, was the smartest thing the Lakers could have done.

They both acted like children in that case. It was gonna be one or the other. The Lakers chose the guy who was younger and had the brighter future...Shaq is the one still being a bitch about it with his "Tell me how my ass tastes" rap.

I guess you are right...Ignorance is bliss.

Like I said before. I am by no means a blinded Lakers fan. Show/Link me what sold you on Kobe being a rapist rather than just a cheater. Paying someone to go away, especially in the celebrity world, is by no means an admission of guilt.

I guess we should rename the thread since it all about the Kobe Rape Case now...

I read this entire rant visualizing your avatar speaking the words in the post. It was pretty funny.

    ^eh...your loss :)

So cmon MaxieP...your just gonna ditch our discussion with a snide remark after I told you the truths of the matter. Nothing personal...bring it! Or maybe you can say " Gee DaRizzle, I never thought of it that way, nor knew as much as you about the drama surrounding the Lakers,. I think you may be right."

Its ok to admit when you are wrong...even on a message board

You overpay for stars, because you are underpaying them when they're in their prime. Sure Shaq made a ton of money with that new deal, but he brought Miami a championship. How much do you pay for that championship? By trading Shaq, you probably cost yourself another two or three rings. That's worth having him clog your cap at the back end of his contract.

And let's be clear, that initial trade was bad and then the Kwame trade made it worse. It was only the benevolence of the Griz that saved Mitch's bacon.

But a competent management structure who has control of their player doesn't let it get to that level. It was the tail wagging the dog. As for Shaq still complaining, Kobe started it up again when he brought up the issue that Shaq paid a girl $1MM to keep her mouth shut about their affair. He was basically responsible for Shaq's marriage breaking up.

As I said before, all of his actions--going after the woman's character, sending PI's throughout the Vail Valley with money to dig up dirt, leaking confidential information, etc., and then finally paying the woman off--leads one to the conclusion that he was not only guilty, but guilty as hell.

Man, I can't help but laugh. Everytime I see you start getting angry, I hear it in my head as a whining and crying Sasha!

If Kobe ever became a Blazer, I would not renew my season tickets and put by Blazer fandom on hiatus until he left.

I understand your opinion max, and I used to agree with you, but I've changed my mind in the last year or so. Kobe has impressed me, especially with his attitude during the Olympics.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I'd be thrilled if the Blazers signed Kobe Bryant. That should lock up a few championships.
