Annoying how he thinks that he can choose what Rip City was for everyone else, when he wasn't even here
dear everyone anywhere, stop reading, listening to, acknowledging him. I know there are tons of you in PDX so addicted to sports radio that you listen to him anyway, but do yourself a favor and stop. And you Maxiep, listing all the way from Denver...
I logged into 95.5 the game hoping to hear the press conference and Canzano was on. Generally I stay away from him (and all sports radio), but I wanted to hear Rudy.
Have you ever listened to Alla Abdalnaby (I know I must be butchering this -- where is that helpful sig when I need it) on radio? I think he is great! Sorry to change the topic -- but it would be awesome to have him in Portland on radio talking hoops or sports in general.
I think Canzano is the best option we have in local sports talk right now. I'm still trying to figure out if I like Gavin Dawson.
I have liked Canzano better lately but that isn't saying much. I couldn't stand him and wouldn't read him in the Oregonian for ever. I do like the way Canzano is after Comcast and the Blaers to get a deal done on CSNW. I have even enjoyed his radio show more lately and even think he is right on a few thing. He doesn't seem to be as negative for no reason on the Blazers, Ducks or Beavers. At least that is the way it seems to me. I still don't like Canzano but will listen to his show depending on what it is about.
My favorite part of Canzano being on the air today was when KP basically asked him "So what kind of drama are you trying to stir up today?" (not a quote, but something along those lines). Canzano isn't the worst, but he so obviously tries to create controversy out of thin air, in an attempt to create ratings, that I've long since tuned him out and would rather listen to the sweet sounds of silence than listen to him whip people up into frenzy over nothing -- and it's almost always nothing. Today's "Is Rip City back" question is so obviously a goad, trying to get people to phone in outraged that he would question the very idea. As for the question, here's a hint John, 200-300 people showed up at the airport to welcome a rookie shooting guard, who is most likely going to be a sixth or seventh man on the roster -- I'll go out on a limb with this one and say yes.
Aside from Wheels, Dawson is the ONLY person in this market who is commited to talking hoops, and actually has half a clue what he is talking about. I do think Chad Doing's "clone" schtick wears thin though; I'd like to donkey punch that guy a few times.
Chad is another one I can hardly listen to. I use to like Dawson but even he is getting irritating. I guess I'm getting old because outside of Wheels I really don't like any of 95.5 announcers. I still listen to them more the the Fan though.
That's why I can't figure him out. He talks Blazers a lot, but always states the obvious and rarely gives a different take on the Blazers. What do you think of "C_I_P" . . . i'm with the others, I can barely listen to him. I only do because he airs with Dawson and that is the time I am driving to work in the morning (flip between those 2 and Cowherd). I know cowherd personally, I'm guessing you do to?
