Oklahoma City’s new NBA franchise has sold nearly two-thirds of its season tickets in the first two days of availability. Thunder spokesman Dan Mahoney says 8,350 season tickets were sold during select-a-seat events at the Ford Center on Monday and Tuesday, and only about 4,800 remain. Another select-a-seat day is planned on Wednesday at the Ford Center, with fans who had randomly selected appointment times getting their chance to pick where their tickets will be. The Thunder open their season on Oct. 29 against Milwaukee. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/basketball/other_nba/view.bg?articleid=1118097&format=text
Wow, thats great! These fans have never had their own basketball team and they finally get to see their team play. But again, the "Thunders" aren't going to be all that great so its a waste of money for those who bought it
How is it a waste of money? Just because they're not winning doesn't mean they're not worth watching. They're a young team loaded with talent and potential and play an uptempo and entertaining style of basketball.
Would've been hilarious if a bunch of Sonics fans with money, bought a TON of season tickets, or the city of Seattle bougth them all, and NONE of them showed up. I don't know, I'd get a kick out of that.
