It takes 10 minutes to cook all that. Two frying pans, one cooks the hash browns and the ham slice. I measure the egg beaters in a measuring cup and cook it in the 2nd pan (omlette pan). Once I start the hash browns, I chop up about 1/8 to 1/4 of a bell pepper, takes < 1 minute, and I keep the leftover in a baggie in the veggie drawer. The waffle or english muffin or bagel takes about a minute in the toaster.
Weekdays - A Powerbar or energy shake, a cup of coffee, and a packet of Emergen-C. Weekends - eggs of some sort, turkey sausage or real bacon, sometimes I'll make french toast for the family if I'm feeling really nuts.
Usually, all I have is a glass of OJ. I usually don't have time to do anything in the morning. One bowl of cheerios screw up my digestive system so bad. I still eat them though. During the weekend, when I have time, I sometimes go to this diner a few minutes from my house and get a ham and cheese omelet with hash browns, and toast, and a glass of orange juice. Their omelet's are money. And always eat your omelet's with ketchup. That's my perfect breakfast. So good. I'm hungry for one now. Good thing diners serve breakfast 24/7. Might go out tonight to get one. Depends on if the Mets start to depress me.
I have a pretty strange love of diners. The food is not terribly healthy, so I can't justify eating there a lot, but the feel and taste and atmosphere just feels very great...kindof classic urban Americana.
About all I can get down for breakfast is a glass of water, a pot of coffee and a multivitamin. I've tried to become a breakfast guy, but I'm never hungry in the morning.
You can drink water on an empty stomach? That always makes me queasy. I'm not sure why, but I know I'm not alone in that. Other liquids I can drink on an empty stomach.
Wake up, shave and shower, get a bottle of water and go to school. Can't eat in the morning, not sure why. haha Then when I return (4 days at 11am, 1 day at 9:30am), eat some kind of late breakfast mixed with lunch, since after that I go to work at 1pm.
John Tesh says that drinking a glass of water after waking up can make you more alert and gives you energy.
