Both sides have agreed to negotiate on his next contract after the season. Relative to the West, the Rockets feel that PG is their weakest position (e.g. huge gap between Chris Paul and Rafer Alston). They feel better about it this year than last year, though. Yao's doing well, his repaired foot is responding well, and he should be ready to go by training camp. Tracy has some lingering post-surgery pain, but he's considers it only a minor annoyance and it won't hinder his ability to play. Rockets did their research on Artest, and they knew he'd be a great practice player who has a strong foundation for winning basketball (personable, works hard, competitive) Lastly, Morey is unwilling to divulge his biggest concern with the team.
