I'm a big fan of Haslem's. MLE deal, big production for the $. Reminds me of a younger Kurt Thomas.

Maybe Brandon Bass, having to play behind Dirk.

My first notion is Haslem. He's good for a double-double on most occasions and the contract is good too.

Paul Millsap is pretty underrated. He plays behind Boozer, so I guess that's an excuse.

He's already on many people's list as one of the top PFs in the league. Think he is beyond that?

So would that make him a top 3 PF? I have him ranked at about 6, behind Duncan, KG, Amare, Dirk, and Bosh.

What I think makes him underrated is that he has less holes in his game than any of those players, and think he compares very favorably with all of them.

If you read that and thought to yourself "I really like Brand, too, but I think realistically he's a notch below those players", then I think two very related things.

    1. You are in the great majority.
    2. Brand is the most underrated PF in the league.

Wait, how is Brand more complete than Tim Duncan or KG?

He's more versatile offensively than either of them.

I dunno, Tim Duncan has nice bank shots, hook shots, dunks, mid range jumper.

KG has dunks, hook shots, fade away jumpers, mid range jump shot.

Would you care to elaborate on how Brand is more versatile offensively?

I think he has a better combination of range, ballhandling, playmaking and post scoring than either of them. If I need a basket I'd give it to Brand before the others.

If I believed the majority of people (or anyone, for that matter) would agree with me, it would have just been plain silly of me to post that I thought he was the most underrated PF in the league.

Brand has worse range and worse playmaking skills than either KG or Duncan

He is a worse ball handler than KG and at best equal to Duncan

The only area where he has an advantage is post scoring over KG but even that isn't enough to make up for the other factors.

Holding a minority opinion (I have plenty of those) is one thing, but tilting at windmills is something entirely different.
