Obviously JKidd did not look like the same player with the Mavs. Was that due to the difference in the quality of the Nets and Mavs; where on the Nets he was a good player picking up the stats, as even on bad teams there will be players that pad their numbers... has JKidd looked like he has slowed down? Or is it not being able to get comfortable with his team mates quick enough?

Will he last another 3 years as a high-caliber starting PG. I'm sure he can last longer coming off the bench (ala Gary Payton).

Personally I'm not so sure. I thought once he was traded he would gel with his new team.

It was Avery's system that plagued Kidd's effectiveness. The same guy that took Kidd out in the final seconds of a Lakers' (?) game, for whatever dumb reason. Dallas was unable to get a good shot off that would of tied or won them the game.

Kidd is just a role player at this point, An expensive, overrated role player. His defense is significantly worse than it was a few years ago, and he doesn't have to be guarded on the perimeter.

I don't doubt Kidd, but he is a bad situation with a coaching staff that doesn't game plan to his strengths.

BTW, where were all of you that are saying he is done when Kidd was being compared to Stockton by some a few years ago?

The reason Kidd didn't look that good was because of the system. Avery ran a system built around isolations and never adjusted once he got Kidd to run the PG for him. I think Kidd will look rejuvinated this year under Rick Carlisle and I fully expect Rick's system to take advantage of Kidd's capabilities.

I always knew there was a clock on Kidd. Almost every thread I started for three years related to it.

Jason Kidd is done. The turkey is baked. It is time to let him rest and then we can serve him with cranberry sauce.

I think he only has 1 more year playing at a high level. After that he's just going to be like Payton, a guy who should be retired
