a politician lying??? say it isn't so!!!!! they're all frauds and liars my man, you just vote for the person you think will do the least worst at the job, not the best.. because that NEVER happens. Presidents/ politicians don't give 2 shits about you, they're there to line their pockets and keep big business happy and rich.
This is important, because McCain said he was going to Washington to fix the economy, but never actually followed through on that, exposing his whole "suspending his campaign" to be nothing but a dumb stunt.

so . . . let's see . . . McCain is caught in a manipulative lie, and the response is, "give him a break, he's no worse than anyone else." What every happened to holding politicians to the highest standard?
I happen to think that Reid is a good guy with a lot of integrity, although a bit of an ideologue. I don't think his job is to be a pitbull and complain in either instance, however, and I think he often goes too far in his partisan statements. However, one could probably justify his statements as a consistent policy: the senators should be present to vote on important bills regardless of whether they contribute in drafting them. So, to be consistent, he would therefore have to state that McCain and Obama should stay away during the drafting and negotiation process, since (a) neither is on the Banking committee; (b) neither is a subject-matter expert; and (c) their staffs and advisors can do all the same work anyway, but that, when the bill is up for vote, they sure as heck better high-tail it back to Washington. I think that stance would be consistent. Would he take it? Who knows.
I voted for Reid (he's my state senator). I think he's been godawful the whole time, and an asshole on top of that. This is just one of countless idiotic statements he's made, almost daily. No way is he getting my vote again. No senator should tell others not to show up to do their jobs. The rules of the senate are such that regardless of what the Bank Robbing Committee reports out of committee, the bill is subject to amendments. Speak for Obama, though. He's not a subject-matter expert on anything - what's he doing there?
Beats me. I have no idea why anyone wants to run for public office in the first place. my impression is that Reid only started making these idiotic comments once he became the democrat's top dog, or whatever his title is.
As I said on BBF (and probably here too), any undecided voter who's stupid enough to be swayed by something like this is a fucking fool. And I'm proven so right...
