The Contract with America gang obviously has a huge postscript since there has been time for history to unfold; however, both groups came into Congress on platforms of change. So how did each group do in their first 2 years in charge?
The contract for america was filled with good ideas and quite appealing. They didn't pass any of them that I remember, though the honorable republicans did term limit themselves. They also talked about Time Limits - where they only show up for work a fraction of the time so they can't do as much damage. Pelosi's gang ran on change, and we got change - "do nothing." They're not even passing the 13 required spending bills that's the bulk of their job (they passed NONE this year). They did pass a newer Patriot Act (extension) and warrantless wiretapping law. That's all I can think of for their accomplishments.
