Link Look at Paul Pierce... he won't had been on this list or that high before this past season, would he had? -Petey
KG and T-Mac are too high in my opinion. KG is great and all, but last year it wasn't just him. T-Mac needs to win a series before I acknowledge he is AS great as the other players up there on that list. He's just unfortunate to have to deal with all the injury problems in Houston. Timmy is too high too for a guy who is good, but declining.
I almost agree with that list...almost. I, personally, don't look at Tony Parker as a top 15 player in the league, but it's debatable I 'spose. Also, DW, Duncan is still a top 5 player in the league. He's still the best defensive player at his position, still one of the top rebounders in the league as well. And for a guy with "declining ability", did you look at last season? He played in 78 games and averaged 19/11, along with 2bpg. The only reason he looked like he was declining was because he was battling that foot issue. He was healthy last season, and it showed, and I fully expect him to put up close to 20/10 again this year. Also, keep in mind, he's not even the main focal point on offense. In fact, he's probably #3 now on the Spurs. Both Manu and Parker and given more and more opportunities every year, which cuts into Timmy's, so of course he's going to have a drop off in points.
Man, if I were building a team, since star bigs are rarer than star guards. I'd have Yao at least in the top 10.
If this is meant to project the top 15 players for the upcoming season, then the clear top 4 for me are Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Paul in some order. And I think Tony Parker is the most overrated player on this list. Perhaps things change next year, but I think Ginobili has been clearly the Spurs second best player the past couple years.
I actually didn't even realize he wasn't there. And to answer, yes and no. Yes because he's such a dynamic scorer that can beat you in so many ways, and for what it's worth, I'd definitely put him in my top 15. I can also see the "no" side of it because he's yet to really win it all or even come remotely close (everyone on that list but Dwight and TMac has at least been to the Conference Finals) and he's still pretty awful on defense.
