for the time being, they've traded camby and received nothing. at the time they use their $10 mil trade exception, it may make the camby trade worth it.

and you don't have to go on a camby rant if you don't want to, but it certainly does hurt the team the nuggets will be putting on the floor.

No, it doesn't hurt the team on the floor. The Nuggets are a better team without Camby.

We disagreed on many things long before that.

I'm just tossing some sarcasm your way.

you're right. the team is much better off with nene, steven hunter, chris anderson, or kenyon martin playing the center spot.

They are absolutely better with Nene playing center. Nene is actually a threat on offense and is a far better man defender than Camby.

I didn't realize you were such a believer in the horribly overrated Marcus Camby

i don't have to be much of a believer to feel that the nuggets are better off with him than any of the players i listed.

so i assume camby is on your most overrated players in the league list?

Josh Howard does not have nearly as much offensive ability.

Dirk was respectable in two out of those last four games in the Finals. It is a team sport and he is only overrated to me because he has an MVP. Again he is soft defensively, but respectable in the clutch 4 out of the last 6 years in the league. Further, over the past two years only Kobe and LeBron have outscored him in these close situations.

You're right. To say they've gotten worse with Iverson is an exaggeration on my part. But I don't think he's had anywhere near the positive impact that his status would suggest he'd have.

I agree. Iverson has not made the Nuggets a substantially better team.

I won't miss him on the Nuggets. I was just happy that Andre Miller was getting shipped out of town.

    Amare.

Yes he is a good offensive player, but he gets too much credit for his defense when he can't play a lick of it. Camby is too. He is a good weak side defender meaning he will look good in the stat book, but wont lock down anyone.

Well Miller has certainly had a positive impact on the Sixers.

Miller does great on teams with low expectations where he can dominate the ball like he did in Cleveland and when he first got to Denver.

The 2002-2003 Clippers were a team that entered the team with fairly lofty expectations after going 39-43 the previous season and adding Andre Miller. The team finished with 27 wins and the locker room was ugly. Even when everyone was healthy, they sucked.

I don't think you can blame Miller for what happened with the Clippers. They were a young and immature team. Injuries were a huge problem for that squad, and chemistry was never developed. With that being said though, Miller lead the Sixers to a complete 180 degree turn when he was traded to the Sixers. He took a team expected to have one of the worst records in the league and lead them into the playoffs, something Iverson wouldn't have done had he stayed.

So I take it that with the signing of Elton Brand, the expectations put onto the Sixers this season, Andre Miller and the Sixers will disappoint?

the sixers are a team that could potentially be very disappointing.

other than louis williams(who only averaged two 3 point attempts per game) and kareem rush(who shouldn't get many if any minutes) no one on the team can knock down outside shots. 2 of their top 3 big men offer no threat offensively(though they have marreese speights can help in that area some if he's good enough to earn minutes). thadeous young is going to have to pretty much exclusively play sf even though he was better at pf last year and igoudala is going to be playing a lot more minutes at sg even though his best position to this point has been sf.

i've seen people very quick to give the sixers a home playoff series and talk about their chances to actually win the east this year, but i just don't see them meeting those expectations. i'd put them more like 6th in the east with a first round exit.

The Sixers were the 7th seed last year and gave the Pistons a tough time in the playoffs. So I take it that adding a franchise player in Elton Brand to an already decent team only moves them up one seed? I don't think the Sixers will win the east this year, but they've definitely improved a lot from last season. I expect them to make the second round of the playoffs at the very least, and I don't think they will disappoint. Besides Boston, Cleveland, and Detroit, there aren't any teams in the east "clearly" better than the Sixers. I'd actually put them on par with Orlando, as crazy as it sounds.
